Tonight

Source
That is really how I feel tonight. To speak up and make life simpler that way. With everything going on at home, missing friends, stressed out from college and on top something that bothers me with my flatmates. Kind of proud of myself for speaking up. Something that usually takes me some time to do. I know, for those of you who know me personally, you say "Whaaaat?", but it's true, I have to get all my courage together and speak up unless my annoyance-balance bubbles over...but that is something completely different (and really not a nice side of me).
Do you know those moments?

Horrible

I am a horrible blogger, friend and student at the moment. At least it seams to me like it...
I haven't been around blogging as much as I wanted to. I had a great time at home and there was so much going on. So many inspirations, much cooking and just really beautiful spring weather. I have so many things on my mind I want to blog about... and so many blog posts I have to tell you a progress about that I don't know where to start. Some friends are still waiting for reply to a mail or letter which I haven't been able to get myself on writing since there are so many other things on my list to do. I am really sorry and hopefully get to you really soon. I feel so bad... It seems like there is no end to the list. And don't get me started on college work. It keeps piling up and I have no idea were to start first. Every time I am proud of myself for finishing some things, there are still so many things to do that came up while doing that first assignment... and the semester is almost over...which freaks me out a little more....:(
1 More spring flowers
2 Inspiration
3 Great evening with a friend and yummy food
4 Shopping for a gift
5 Everyday life: trying to buy some outdoor paint
6 On my way to Hamburg (German Wall Memorial)
7 Watching a 3D movie in class and wearing colourful glasses
8 Workplace for the day
9 So true...

New Year's in Praha

...here are some pictures from the short trip to Prague for New Year's! It was so much fun. We saw so much, eat great food and just had a blast!!;) I have to say that the best Christmas tree I have ever seen stands in Prague. It was just a light sensation and you couldn't take your eyes off of it! Even better than the one in Strasbourg!:P I can really recommend it for a trip, it’s really worth a visit! We went to the Castle, the Golden Lane, almost every bridge in Prague we saw, all the different parts of town where fun and something interesting to see.

Happy New Year...Wait, Whaaaat??

uups..guess that was a while ago!!!:P
Right?
But here it goes since I haven't been able to do this earlier!!
So here are my last years resolutions:
Resolutions for 2012:
-to get outside at least 15 minutes per day
-read 3 books a month
-find an internship
-watch two movies at the cinema each month
-craft more, e.g. sewing, handicraft and paint

The ones that are strikethrough I have been able to achieve. You know it's really hard to get outside for 15 minutes a day? I tried to and kept it up quite some time, but especially weekends are bad, because I sit at home and do Uni stuff and don't get outside. But this year I will do better, I try!  I also was able to read as many books as I wanted to, partly because of my BA-thesis and party because I was not in the reading mood. You ask: How come? I don't know, every time I picked up a book and started it, it reminded me of something (mostly sad) and I didn't want to read on....

So next(ahhh, this ^^) years resolutions are:
- Bake all recipes from my calender (there are 12)
- Read 24 (or more) books throughout the year
- Buy quality instead of quantity
- make sure to save 1€ a day (guess that'll be the hard one)
- Finish my BA and start something new
- Embrace new beginnings, whatever they are

And now there will be some thoughts on 2012:

The best that happened to me last year: there is not just one thing this year! It’s the wedding, my internship, my trip to Edinburgh and Praha…
This didn't have to happen in 2012: making others see me in a different way.
I have learned in 2012 that good friends are hard to come around to!
My movie of the year 2012 was Ziemlich Beste Freunde
My book of the year 2012 was Cecilia Ahern "One Hundred Names"
My song of the year 2012 was Robbie Williams "Candy"
My TV-show of the year was Desperate Housewives and Private Practice (both gone :( )
I've been there the first time in 2012 Praha and Edinburgh
In 2012 I travelled to: Cheb, Kalovy Vary, Luxembourg, Hockenheim Ring, Bamberg,  Kaiserslautern, Edinburgh Strasbourg and Prag
I am proud of myself for doing this in 2012: my internship.
In 2012 I should have checked off more from my resolution list
In 2012 I should have been less sidetracked.
In 2012 the saddest thing was that I felt left behind at one point…
In 2012 I spend most of my time researching.
Five words that describe 2012 for me relax, bridesmaid, get-together, goodbyes and research.
I am excited about 2013 because I’m going to finish my BA. and start something new.
Things I need to do more in 2013: focus on the important things (in life, at uni, in friendships)
Things I need to do less in 2013: buy crappy things just because they are cheap.
The craziest thing I did in 2012 was make a scene.
In 2012 I went to a (real big) wedding for the first time.
In 2012 I did this after a long time again: Seeing my friends and former Au-Pairs.
Word of the year? Bridesmaid or internship
City of the year? Praha
Best time spend with? A great friend in Edinburgh.
Best moment? Being part of the ‘Wedding of the Year’.

2012 was a really fun and exciting year for me!

Christmas get-together

with a very good friend to see the Christmas market in Landau. I LOVE Christmas markets...and this one was something special. A lot of food and a lot of people interested in crafts presented their own special somethings. I cought some very good ideas that I want to do for next years X-Mas. Very good way to be inspired walking around a Christmas market....;)
Cute, right?
Crafting ideas
....more!!;)

Christmas Writing

...needs to be done! I have been writing some of the Christmas cards for this year but I think there are more to come. I have written all the ones that travel far, like Mexico, USA and GB. And soon the ones for the neighbor countries will go out and last but not least the ones that stay in Germany. I usually make a list of all the people who receive a nice card. First I started writing to a lot of people but then, as you would guess, it got quite expensive and I had to cut back.
But this year was kind of weird since all my cards are at home, waiting for me, I guess. You got to know that I really have a whole bunch of them so I didn't want to buy some more...But I found some in the back of my cupboard and got to write the ones that travel far...

There is always a first...

Although I am living in Germersheim already for three years I haven't been able to go to the Christmas market. Somehow I was at home (or busy otherwise) during these weekends. You have to know now, that this market is very small and thus is not open 4 weeks ahead of Christmas (which is the usual) but rather two weekends during December (Most of the times at the beginning of December and then again in the middle). This is kind of lame, because usually I had other plans on those weekends and I always hoped for next year.

So this year was my first time and it was really fun! I went with a friend and we enjoyed some Gluehwein, Crêpe and some fun (Christmas) music was played by a live band.Although it closes at 9pm already we were there quite late but we still had a chance to look around and see the nice homemade pieces we could buy. It's a really nice and cozy Christmas market and it's definitely something different to the BIG ones in Germany and around...

Some Photomaniac

As promised here are some pictures of my trip. Unfortunately I have taken so many pictures, as always, that I can't possibly share all of them. So I guess it will be just a peek into what I have seen during these lovely days in Edinburgh...

I know it's really just a small peak...but there would be a photo overload if I would show all of them!;)  Nevertheless I had such a great time there, even if you can see only a little of Edinburgh....;)

What a week

...it's been! I have been on a little trip to Edinburgh, to visit a dear friend! It has been so much fun enjoying the city but mostly spending time with my friend! Since many of my friends are on exciting adventures (studying abroad, internships…) this semester it is really something to get together. So I enjoy every minute of it. Not just with the ones that are far away…
But I am drifting…I wanted to tell you about my vacation. ;) So many places we’ve seen, interesting and new dishes I’ve tried and so many nice new people I’ve met. I will show you some pics soon, but I haven’t had the time to upload them to my laptop, so they are still trapped inside my camera…

Places/sights/museums/café’s, we’ve seen together:
Edinburgh City
Portobello’s beach
Edinburgh Castle
Palace of Holyroodhouse
Rosslyn Chapel
Jamie’s Italian
Hard Rock Café Edinburgh
National Library of Scotland
Statue of Bobby
Edinburgh Dungeon
The People’s Museum
The Scottish Grown Jewels
The World’s End…and many places more!!!

Such a great city and so much fun for those few days. Ohh and I saw the new Bond movie….sooo great!! First time in an English cinema…;)

A car is like a friend

At least I would say so. He brings you from one place to another. Is there in sad and in happy times. Was my first car and will be remembered for that. Will be missed, there is never to be a first....

The last month was full of fun markets, fairs and new cities. Some of the lovely places I had to take a picture of...
