Happy New Year...Wait, Whaaaat??

uups..guess that was a while ago!!!:P
Right?
But here it goes since I haven't been able to do this earlier!!
So here are my last years resolutions:
Resolutions for 2012:
-to get outside at least 15 minutes per day
-read 3 books a month
-find an internship
-watch two movies at the cinema each month
-craft more, e.g. sewing, handicraft and paint

The ones that are strikethrough I have been able to achieve. You know it's really hard to get outside for 15 minutes a day? I tried to and kept it up quite some time, but especially weekends are bad, because I sit at home and do Uni stuff and don't get outside. But this year I will do better, I try!  I also was able to read as many books as I wanted to, partly because of my BA-thesis and party because I was not in the reading mood. You ask: How come? I don't know, every time I picked up a book and started it, it reminded me of something (mostly sad) and I didn't want to read on....

So next(ahhh, this ^^) years resolutions are:
- Bake all recipes from my calender (there are 12)
- Read 24 (or more) books throughout the year
- Buy quality instead of quantity
- make sure to save 1€ a day (guess that'll be the hard one)
- Finish my BA and start something new
- Embrace new beginnings, whatever they are

And now there will be some thoughts on 2012:

The best that happened to me last year: there is not just one thing this year! It’s the wedding, my internship, my trip to Edinburgh and Praha…
This didn't have to happen in 2012: making others see me in a different way.
I have learned in 2012 that good friends are hard to come around to!
My movie of the year 2012 was Ziemlich Beste Freunde
My book of the year 2012 was Cecilia Ahern "One Hundred Names"
My song of the year 2012 was Robbie Williams "Candy"
My TV-show of the year was Desperate Housewives and Private Practice (both gone :( )
I've been there the first time in 2012 Praha and Edinburgh
In 2012 I travelled to: Cheb, Kalovy Vary, Luxembourg, Hockenheim Ring, Bamberg,  Kaiserslautern, Edinburgh Strasbourg and Prag
I am proud of myself for doing this in 2012: my internship.
In 2012 I should have checked off more from my resolution list
In 2012 I should have been less sidetracked.
In 2012 the saddest thing was that I felt left behind at one point…
In 2012 I spend most of my time researching.
Five words that describe 2012 for me relax, bridesmaid, get-together, goodbyes and research.
I am excited about 2013 because I’m going to finish my BA. and start something new.
Things I need to do more in 2013: focus on the important things (in life, at uni, in friendships)
Things I need to do less in 2013: buy crappy things just because they are cheap.
The craziest thing I did in 2012 was make a scene.
In 2012 I went to a (real big) wedding for the first time.
In 2012 I did this after a long time again: Seeing my friends and former Au-Pairs.
Word of the year? Bridesmaid or internship
City of the year? Praha
Best time spend with? A great friend in Edinburgh.
Best moment? Being part of the ‘Wedding of the Year’.

2012 was a really fun and exciting year for me!

Did you know...

...that almost all the movies we see/saw are adapted screenplays?
Many movies have been a book before hitting the big screen and we haven't bothered reading it but then we watch the movie. I don't mean the obvious ones like "The Hunger Games" and "The Descendants" or such books/movies but rather the ones we grew up with or just the classic movies we all love... I have to do a presentation in class next week, that's why I know so much about it at the moment. And the more research I do the more fascinated I am with how many movies are based on a book. And even more by the fact how many people (from other blogs and web forums) dislike the adapted movies. But if you read through all those criticisms it gets quite obvious that many people just don't know that there are limitation to an adaption and that there is never a perfect adaption of a book. Everyone has their own opinions and imagination, so everybody WILL see something different in a sentence, character or certain scene. Just because it isn't EXACTLY like the book it doesn't mean that it's a bad (adapted) movie...

What a week

...it's been! I have been on a little trip to Edinburgh, to visit a dear friend! It has been so much fun enjoying the city but mostly spending time with my friend! Since many of my friends are on exciting adventures (studying abroad, internships…) this semester it is really something to get together. So I enjoy every minute of it. Not just with the ones that are far away…
But I am drifting…I wanted to tell you about my vacation. ;) So many places we’ve seen, interesting and new dishes I’ve tried and so many nice new people I’ve met. I will show you some pics soon, but I haven’t had the time to upload them to my laptop, so they are still trapped inside my camera…

Places/sights/museums/café’s, we’ve seen together:
Edinburgh City
Portobello’s beach
Edinburgh Castle
Palace of Holyroodhouse
Rosslyn Chapel
Jamie’s Italian
Hard Rock Café Edinburgh
National Library of Scotland
Statue of Bobby
Edinburgh Dungeon
The People’s Museum
The Scottish Grown Jewels
The World’s End…and many places more!!!

Such a great city and so much fun for those few days. Ohh and I saw the new Bond movie….sooo great!! First time in an English cinema…;)

The last months in pictures

Because I can't rally write about everything that happened, I did or crafted in the last months I decided to show to you in pics. That way you see what interested me and you don't have to read like a thousand pages...hihi
ohh and a lot lot more! Hanging out with friends, watching series finales and discuss them, going for long walks, reading books, listening to new music, find new bands that I like, reading blogs, enjoying the sun, still a nail polish addict, watching movies, preparing for a wedding, loving the warm weather, went shopping, enjoyed watching TV at home(don't have it where I study) and much more!;)

Quotes

Do now that feeling when you have quotes going through your thoughts but you just don’t know from which movie, serial, song or book they are? It drives me crazy. I’m thinking so hard for as long as it takes until it – suddenly – it hit me. And most of the time I realize that this particular quote is from a movie, serial, song or book which I watched, listened to or read recently. But sometimes I even remember quotes from an old movie or so. And that strikes me the most, because it’s so far back and I can still remember, how creepy, right? It’s just that sometimes the quotes are so magnificent, true or simply touching that I can’t forget them…
"For on that day
he not only altered Joe Theismann's life,
but mine as well."

Check out...

...my other pages here on this blog! I have a seperate page for favorit movies, books and some recipes I have posted.
I have a section for my favorite movies and hopefully will add some movies I have seen in the cinema lately but that is still under construction.;)
As you see there is a seperate section about myself, where you get to know some more about me, if you like!;)
In the third section you can inform yourself about my favorite books, but as well, this section is still under construction. It gives you the name of the book, a small summary and my opinion on the story.
The last section is about the recipes I posted on the blog and it is just to see them at one page so you dont have to search the whole blog to be able to read them.

All about Steve

When I saw that Sandra Bullock won the golden raspberry for her movie I was kind of in shock and wanted to see the movie myself to judge! I had seen the Blind Side and was in Love with the movie and the massage and how well the character suited Sandra B. . So I bought the movie and watched and now I can understand why it  won. I think it doesn't deserve it but it is absolutely not one of Sandra Bullock's best movies.

The Soloist

Do you know the feeling when you see a movie trailer and you desperately want to see the movie but it never made it to the German cinemas (especially, when you live in a small town)? Well this movie was like this. It is called 'The Soloist' and unfortunately it never made its way to the cinema in my area. So when I saw it in the shelf's I bought it right away.
The movie is about a man who has a great talent as a musician. Unfortunately his illness got in the way and he stopped attending Julliard. A reporter heard him play on the streets and was fascinated with his talent and so he wrote an article in the newspaper about him and his great way of playing. And suddenly the soloist has a friend...

This is the story in few words. I wanted to watch this movie very badly and therefore I was very excited to actually watch it. It is not a mainstream movie. It has many messages in between the lines and it gives you something to think about! I really like the message the movie is trying to give and I am very happy that I was finally able to watch the movie...

Thanks Mr. Postman

This morning my packet arrived that I ordered last week. It's nice to get a packet, that you were looking for with anticipation...;)
It means that I finally can watch some other movies, somehow the others ones I have I already know by heart. And for the books...I hopefully get to make some stuff out of them and I'm looking forward to bake at home..

Kino Night

The main reason for traveling to Caro was to see the new Karate Kid movie. So we went to see it yesterday. I really liked the movie allthough while watching some questions came up. Like why is this movie called Karate Kid when they are doing Kong Fu? But it didn't bother me while watching. It's just odd. Though it's a great movie and has a great cast, it's not as good as the old ones and cannot be compared. Nevertheless it is nice to see some old things back, like weird training where you think it leads to nowhere or WAX ON/WAX OFF!;)
