Being back home is a great thing eventhough I love traveling! How you should know by now I was in Berlin for a long weekend to visit a friend (F. thanks that I could come!)! It was a great weekend. A drove on Friday to her and picked her up from work. After we met we made our way down the Ku'damm... It was great being back and recognizing it all. it really hasn't changed that much... Sure some shops had to close but the really important ones were still there!!!
So as I said on Friday afternoon we made our way down the expensive street, the Kurfuersten Damm. Of course I spent way too much money...but sometimes you have to give a treat to yourself!;) I wanted to go to Hard Rock Cafe and we did, which made me very happy! To finish the great day we had Sushi for dinner! Oh my, it was a great restaurant and we ate very good and even to a good price! That evening I fell into bed and slept like a baby! ;)
On Saturday we started our day with a late breakfast and we decided that we wanted to go shopping and relax a little! So we made our way to nearest Ikea! I LOVE to go shopping there..But then who doesn't?? *hihi* Of course I bought something I didn't really need but at least I didn't spent too much money! Eventhoug we both didn't spent that much we had a lot of fun! Afterwards we went to a shopping mall close by! I had looked online where the nearest TK Maxx is
from her and convinced her that it is a great place! Fortunately I found what I was looking for! I bought a great bag and some shoes, which I both already LOVE!! Eventhough we haven't spent a lot of hours in the shop it felt a lot more! My feet needed a rest!;) As so did she, so we decided to call it the day and relaxed with a good 'wine" and a nice movie!
On Sunday we were both up earlier than the day before. After breakfast we made our way to the subway (F. and all Berlin Citizens will forgive me!) and drove to the central station to visit the Bundestag! We had to wait in line for about an hour...which isn't too bad afterall! Thats the line! My friend is the last person to wait to get in. We rotated every 15 minutes so we wouldn't melt in the sun!;) But as I said the wait was ok and as soon as we went inside we had nothing to complain about anymore! Only one thing: We had to go through the metal detector and an x-ray machine (for the bags only), like the one's at an airport, and I was asked to show a small deodorant and my friend went inside with a pepper spr
ay! Hello??? Then I asked myself, why do they have those detectors if they don't see the stuff?? As we reached the top I had already forgotten about that because the view was so great!
It was a great weekend and we had a lot of fun! I hope we can do something like this again soon!
